Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pillar ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Pillar app and website (the "Service").
1. Information we collect
- Account info: name, email address, and password (stored hashed) when you sign up.
- Profile info: niche, audience, business details, voice preferences, and other inputs you provide so Pillar can generate content for you.
- Content you create: hooks, captions, carousels, calendar entries, and remixes you draft inside Pillar.
- Usage data: log data, device and browser info, IP address, login times, and basic analytics about how you use the Service.
- Purchase info: handled by our checkout partner (Stan). We receive confirmation of your purchase but do not store your full payment card details.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and operate the Service (generate content, save your calendar, sync your account).
- To improve Pillar — fix bugs, understand what features matter, and prioritize what to build next.
- To communicate with you about your account, product updates, and support requests.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. AI processing
To generate content for you, we send your profile and prompts to third-party AI providers (such as model providers used through Lovable AI). Your inputs are used only to generate your responses and are not used by us to train AI models. Each provider has its own privacy practices.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that help us run Pillar — for example, hosting (Cloudflare), our backend database, our AI providers, our email sender, and our checkout partner (Stan).
- Legal authorities when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the Service.
- In a business transfer — if Pillar is acquired or merges with another company, your information may transfer as part of that deal.
5. Data retention
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep it to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and role-based access controls. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong unique password and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or object to certain processing. To make a request, email us at support@pillarapp.ai and we'll respond within the timeframe required by law.
8. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality (keeping you signed in) and basic analytics. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Service may not work correctly without them.
9. Children
Pillar is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. International users
Pillar is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll post the updated policy here and update the "Last updated" date.
